Social Networking Mobile Application for Tenants

(Smart Tenant - a React Native App )

First Place Winner Application at Algonquin College Re/Action Showcase Competition

Description:

Smart Tenant is a mobile application for a property management company in Ottawa to engage in better and continuous communication with their tenants while allowing them to stay in touch with their community, get rewards, and much more.

This application was designed and developed according to the following methodology and process which were applied very successfully by me and my team.

Modern User-centred Application Design and Development Process

Client requirements collected through multiple meeting, user research, market research, and competition research that we completed before even the first steps in the design and development process as well as charting the high-level information architecture helped guide us in the design and the development to the right approach.

The design and development process started by defining the targeted audience, and figuring out personas, use cases and scenarios.

We started the design process by:

  1. wireframing
  2. prototypes
  3. user testing
  4. Iterating through the above steps until a very positive users feedback was achieved

This saved us a lot of time that could have been wasted in the wrong direction making high-fidelity design based on "guessing" the UX/UI with no data or feedback from the end-user of your app/product!

This user-centred design process has proved to be a winning strategy that saves time and produces user-friendly applications.

I and my team won the First Place award for our graduation project for an actual client, Smart Living Properties Inc., Ottawa, Canada, for this React Native cross-platform (Android and iPhone), private social media mobile application, "Smart Tenant", that got even featured on CBC radio!
